The golden age of profit in mining

The government’s policies opening up living spaces to capital have also been reflected in corporate balance sheets. According to reports from the Canadian companies Centerra Gold and Eldorado Gold, hundreds of millions of dollars in profits were generated from gold mines in Turkey during the first half of the year. Centerra’s most profitable mine, Öksüt, single-handedly accounted for $180.4 million of the company’s $356.6 million profit in the first six months of the year. At Kışladağ, which is depleting Uşak’s water supply, Eldorado’s profit reached $33.9 million.
