Whilst the country hits rock bottom in global rankings, Erdoğan’s “historical achievement” benefits capital rather than the public. During 23 years of governance, capital has grown through public resources, whereas the country ranks among the worst in the world regarding inflation, income inequality, labour, and corruption.
